Unlike flooring choices ranging from ceramic tile to carpet, wood is a renewable resource. A recent study conducted by The National Wood Flooring Association (NWFA) and the Decorative Hardwoods Association (DHA) shows that both solid-wood and engineered-wood floors offer the lowest Global Warming Potential (GWP) scores of any flooring choices. This carefully derived environmental criteria is becoming an accepted standard in the flooring industry.
Wood Chic builds upon this advantage by making sure all of our hardwood comes from certified green, self-renewing sources. Our wood is farmed, responsibly harvested and replanted according to long-term sustainability plans—ensuring there is no net woodland loss or negative impact on the environment created by Wood Chic floors.
In addition, Wood Chic uses natural wood on 100% of the raw material for all our engineered hardwood flooring. This helps us not only comply with existing standards, but to raise renewable source reliance every time we create a beautifully engineered floor.
